Pada post sebelumnya gue cerita kalau semua lagu itu bikin gue senang. Tapi challenge ini mengharuskan gue untuk memilih lagu yang bikin gue sedih. Gak tau lah, emang ada ya lagu yang bikin sedih? Ya mungkin banyak sih lagu yang liriknya sedih, tapi lagu dengan lirik sedih itu gak pernah bikin gue sedih. Walaupun gue dengerinnya pas lagi sedih, tapi itu malah bikin gue gak sedih setelahnya. Ngerti gak apa maksud yang pengen gue sampaikan di sini?

OH. ADA DEH SATU LAGU YANG BAWAANNYA SEDIH. Lagunya Mr. Bean, right? Iya gak sih, kalo abis nonton Mr. Bean kan terakhirnya ada lagu sedihnya tuh, and I always got the sadness vibe hearing that song. And I think the show itself is pretty sad. A middle-aged man lives alone, has no friend nor wife, it’s pretty devastating.

Tapi gue gak akan bahas lagunya Mr. Bean.

Gue inget ada lagu yang bikin gue nangis waktu pertama kali denger. I mean I’ve heard it a couple times, but I’ve never listened to the lyrics. And when I actually did, I just burst out into tears (I might have been in a fragile situation).

Dan lagu itu adalah….. *drumrolls*

Dionne Warwick – A House Is Not a Home

If you ever find yourself in the point where you really need to cry your eyes out but you wanna keep it classy, I’d say listen to this song. Seriously it’s the classiest way to waste you tears. You can still cry over the cheesiest thing in the world but you don’t need to be embarrassed because the song you listen to is a high-class ballad—not just a weak ass piece of crap like most sad songs are. Maksudnya walaupun lagu ini cengeng, tapi liriknya sangat estetik dan hal ini bikin meaning-nya berkesan so much deeper than it actually is.

Gue pernah bilang kalau award lagu paling sedih itu jatuh kapada Fix You-nya Coldplay (it stays the same fyi), tapi udah biasa banget kan ngeliat orang jadi galau sendiri setelah dengerin Fix You, and aren’t you guys sick of mainstream things? Gue gak bilang kalau Fix You bukan lagu yang tepat buat bersedih-sedih ya, maksud gue, gue pribadi sih lebih suka lagu-lagu yang gak mainstream.

Gue tau lagu ini (lagi-lagi) dari Glee. Munculnya di pertengahan season 1 kalau gak salah, dan scene lagu ini di Glee lagi sedih-sedihnya gitu, I couldn’t hold back tears.

Udah cukup lama gue gak dengerin A House Is Not a Home, tapi setiap bahas lagu-lagu sedih pasti gue inget sama lagu ini, karena gue bener-bener suka sama liriknya. Padahal sebenernya isi lagu ini sederhana sama seperti lagu-lagu sedih pada umumnya, tapi liriknya dibuat kayak “….but a room is not a house, and a house is not a home, when the two of us are far apart, and one of us has a broken heart” and I was like “fuck.”

Segitu aja post hari ini, yang belum tau lagunya selamat mendengarkan ya J
